Jeannette Normington

Raised in Santa Cruz, CA enjoyed an 18-year career as a professional dancer, touring the world performing in production shows. Pilates was instrumental in helping Jeannette prolong her dance career.

In 2001 Jeannette was certified in mat work at UNLV, continuing with the comprehensive Pilates training through Body Arts & Science International in 2003. Jeannette interned at Keith Kleven Institute of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation for Sports and Dance and Soder/Pensivy Orthopedic Rehabilitation.

Upon retiring from her dance career Jeannette moved home to open her own business, Seascape Pilates for 5 years. After starting a family Jeannette taught for 8 years at Agile Monkey Pilates Studio in Santa Cruz, CA. Jeannette was known for her attention to detail, variety in classes, and genuine friendly and caring nature. Currently Jeannette teaches privates and classes on the mat and all the equipment virtually on Zoom and in person again!

Jeannette has enjoyed various continued education courses through the years including, Anatomy in Three Dimensions, The Roll Model, and Pre/Post-Natal Pilates at The Center for Women’s Fitness. She has studied with teachers including Joy Puleo, Ellie Herman, and Karen Clippinger among others, also enjoying Stott, and Polestar trainings. To deepen her work, Jeannette was a part of a one-year mentorship program, “Passing the Torch” offered by Balanced Body, with master teacher, Tom McCook. Jeannette has been teaching the Core Align since 2010 and in 2018 she became a CoreAlign Master Instructor for Balanced Body.

Jeannette is passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates for pre/post-rehabilitation, athletic performance and quality of life - for clients and professionals alike. Jeannette is an avid sportswoman and can be found with her family exploring the great outdoors! She has been teaching dance since the age of 12 trained in tap, jazz, ballet, and Jeannette now can be found training at dance, yoga, Jiu-Jitsu or Pilates classes. She is dedicated to helping people achieve their maximum fitness potential and making them feel well cared for. Jeannette is best known for, “changing it up” adding lots of variety to her classes.
